…but I tried kale today, and I liked it!
I was at the Reuse Festival at Earth Fare, and Keep the Midlands Beautiful’s Heidi Johnson brought me her lunch plate and asked me to take a bite of this leafy green stuff. Not being one to turn down a challenge, I tried it and LIKED it. Even so much that I went in to Earth Fare and bought some to bring home. I even ate 1/8 of a cup with lunch.
Traci the Nutritionist would probably tell me that it’s best not to eat prepared foods because we don’t know how they’re prepared, and I buy that argument, but I TRIED KALE AND LIKED IT. I’m just sayin’…
Kale is in the species Brassica oleracea, which contains a wide array of vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower, collard greens, and brussels sprouts. It just so happens that out of all the vegetables I have tried, all of those are the ones I like – ahem, tolerate – best.
