First off, apologies. I’ve been AWOL from the blog. My father died the last day I blogged – December 11 – and I was obviously otherwise occupied. I will blog about that eventually, but right now, it’s just a bit too fresh. I will say, though, that I appreciate every act of kindness my family and I have received. Every card, tweet, post, card and visit have meant the world to us. In such a time of sadness, it is heartening to find out how blessed we really are.
Now, meet Marley, my new dog!
In the last week, Sister stayed over at Mom’s, and she had her dog, Cebu, with her. With just me and the cats – who I do dearly love – I realized how much I missed having a dog. This morning, the City’s Animal Shelter posted a picture of Marley, and the rest is history.
She is four years old and came to the shelter when her family couldn’t afford to keep her. She appears to be a mix – I’m thinking maybe some sort of terrier, chow and maybe greyhound. (You know I’ll be getting one of those DNA kits soon!)
Cebu has given Marley a warm welcome, and Bagheera is having a ball with her! Marley seems to be quite amused with Baghi, and Baghi is having a ball breaking in the “new kid.”
