Traci and I decided a while back that when I made this milestone, I would do something to celebrate. I hadn’t given it too much thought, really. The weight has been coming off slowly, and I didn’t think I’d need to decide for at least a couple more weeks.
Imagine my surprise when I weighed the morning of my nutrition appointment and had hit – and exceeded – the 75 lbs. lost mark with a total of 75.6 lbs. lost.
So, my goal this week is to brainstorm a way or ways to celebrate.
I don’t want to do clothes. I’ve been buying new clothes all along the way, and I want to wait to hit my goal weight before I do a lot more. I’ve thought about an iPad or new laptop, but again, want to wait perhaps until I reach my goal weight.
I’ve thought about these:
- A new sterling silver ring. All of my rings are too big, and I think I’m close enough to my goal weight that anything I bought would still fit.
- Making a commitment to do something good for someone else and/or volunteer for at least 75 minutes a week. My volunteer service has really slipped. I used to volunteer for environmental causes, but when I went to work full-time for environmental causes nearly 15 years ago, I didn’t replace that service with something else. I do a bit here and there, but nothing on a regular basis.
- It just so happens that the anniversary gift for the 75th year is the diamond! Oooh! Maybe a smallish pair of diamond studs or a bracelet. (Do they still make tennis bracelets?)
- A $75 donation to NoFizzUSA or a similar health-related cause.
So, I’m curious, what would YOU suggest? I’d love to get some additional ideas. Keep in mind, I don’t have a fortune to spend, although, it doesn’t have to be something expensive or even something to buy.
I’m totally on board with diamond earrings. Or the bracelet if you already have the earrings. I’ll keep thinking…
Love the diamond earrings idea. You could wear them everyday! I want a pair!! Or…..less $, but totally blissful – a day at the spa!!!!!! Massage, facial, the works!
